Yesterday we took a visit to the library hoping our house would be in a picture on file somewhere. It’s pretty close to main street so we thought there might be a chance. We didn’t find a picture of our house but we did find this picture of downtown.
This may seem ordinary at first but look at the bottom right corner. Blake spotted this almost immediately.
There, on the corner of our downtown, used to sit “FINLEY MEAT MARKET”. How cool is that!? (our dog’s name is Finley if you are new to us). I of course take this as a sign from the universe that I am exactly where I am supposed to be in life. Some people might say that’s just a coincidence, and that’s fine, but I look for signs like this. I ask for them. It’s a constant reminder that we are wonderfully and fearfully made and we are put where we are supposed to be at all times. Signs like this remind me that we all have a purpose and it makes me smile. God winked at us and we were lucky enough to see it.
Anyways, you know I have been on the lookout for a table for Blake’s man cave. He wants a place to work where he can eat and see the tv all at once (basically…he is a man).
An unconventional piece came to the rescue. We went with a “kitchen cart”. Yes, you read that correctly. A kitchen cart. In a man cave. Is that ironic? Yes, I think so. Anyways, it’s rather brilliant. Sturdy surface and lots of storage. This thing actually looks like a bar on one side and a set of cabinets on the other. It has a stainless steel drop leaf and it’s on casters so it can travel. It meets all of our qualifications listed here.
Love all this storage space. We needed a spot to put important mail other than the kitchen island (pet peeve). The cabinets are also large enough to store a printer if we want.
Ignore that bar stool it’s the wrong height but you get the picture. We are on the hunt for bar stools with a back so it will be comfortable working for a few hours. See how nicely the computer, second screen, and mouse will fit? Auditor approved.
Lastly, we reclaimed part of our house this weekend. Here is a before and after of the side of the house you could hardly see before. This may not seem like a big deal but we have a pile of brush the size of two cars under the carport (someone with a trailer… help us?…) We also discovered this vine was growing up under the hardy board planks which can really damage a house so we are happy we discovered and pulled everything out before it went too far.
Hope everyone had a great weekend and has a great Monday tomorrow!
