Spring Fever

I have always liked to push the seasons but since I’ve started a job where I semi live under a rock for the first 3 months of the year I have to make a conscious effort to recognize spring. Spring decorations are so fun and I see them in the store and I think oh wow that’s so cute but then I get VERY overwhelmed. Like how many Easter eggs do you have to have in baskets around your house until people take you seriously about spring decorating?
My mom is in town and she’s a genius at our mantle. Our mantle is my weakness and her masterpiece. She did Christmas in our living room and I couldn’t have even dreamed it up. For whatever reason this mantle is like a giant brain freeze for me. Anyways, one trip to Hobby Lobby and my spring decoration woes are solved! (and we didn’t even buy any eggs!….yet)

Here is our mantle at Christmas:

Here is our spring mantle:

It all started with this green bunny.

I love green against this pastel teal color we have going on and I also love moss so this little cotton tail hopped right in the cart. Luckily all of Hobby Lobby’s spring decorations are 40% off right now so this little guy was $12. I think he’s awesome and definitely a decoration I will use every year. (doesn’t he cast the sweetest shadow??)

We brought in a little easter garland.

How cute are those little eggs attached to it?!

The “fresh flowers” sign was on clearance and it just screams “SPRING!!!!!” to me. I think this is something I can use in a lot of places all year long. I elevated it just a little so it wasn’t lost in the garland.

Everything else was stuff I had laying around the house.

I feel like our living room is ready for Spring! ….now if it could just stop raining!

I like that moss rabbit as much as I like my white artichoke. For $7 that artichoke has been the one constant in ALL of my mantelscapes. He’s so photogenic.

We came up with another idea tonight that we will debut tomorrow but for now the paint still has to dry 🙂 Happy Tuesday everyone!

It’s beginning to look a lot like……springtime! Pretty! I can’t wait to see what you have in store for tomorrow.

I am so happy for you and your visiting Mom! ‘Know you’re enjoying her there–and she can’t wait for you to get home from work each day to give you a “new idea”–or show you what she’s done all day! And enjoy those “Mom and Daughter” talks over a glass of wine! Your spingtime mantle looks great–think I’ll just go dig out my Spring stuff!
